Ian Fairservice founded Motivate Publishing in 1979. With his partner H.E. Obaid Humaid Al-Tayer, the United Arab Emirates Minister of State for Finance, he has developed the company to become one of the most successful media houses in the region - with more than 30 editorial titles across print and digital and a diverse range of contract publishing products.
With more than a decade’s experience in journalism, Neil King is the editor of Gulf Business magazine. Having cut his teeth at the Essex Chronicle newspaper in the UK, he went on to work for Spafax where he edited a portfolio of in-flight magazines. Moving into business journalism, Neil arrived in Dubai in 2012 before joining the Gulf Business team at the start of 2016.
Mark Beer became CEO of DIFC Courts in 2009 – a year after joining as Registrar in 2008. Among his many titles, he is currently a judge of the Courts’ Small Claims Tribunal, past Chairman of both the DIFC Legal Group and of the Courts Users Committee, a member of the DIFC Courts’ Rules Subcommittee, Registrar of the Special Tribunal Related to Dubai World, and the CEO of DIFC’s Dispute Resolution Authority. A former member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on the International Legal System, he remains a member of the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network for Justice. Mark is also the President-Elect of the International Association for Court Administration and a member of The International Council of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A former Chairman of the British Business Group, Mark was awarded Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in Queen Elizabeth II’s 2013 Birthday honours list.
